Changing How We Use Computers
Touch screen laptop computers offer an additional level of interactivity between users and computers that makes the overall experience that much more enjoyable. Being able to recognize and digitize the impressions of a stylus over the screen is a dream come true for some professionals. Since productivity software such as Microsoft’s Office programs support touch recognizing hardware, it is obvious that touch screens are not only here to stay but take over the way consumers view their mobile laptop computers.
It is no longer just point and click of a mouse or tapping of the keyboard, multi-touch functionality will allow users to manipulate their virtual environment in ways that simulate the real world. We can work with our hands, fingers, and stylus in a very intuitive way to produce the results we want. Don’t be surprised at how quickly and stealthily touch screen laptop tablets become a norm in the computing world. That is because it is so intuitive and the learning curve so small that people will start enjoying their computing experience without realizing it.
There are artist who wish they had to flexibility of a dry erase board but the permanence of regular paper. Well, a touch screen laptop that digitizes their work as they go and then allows for further touch ups and enhancements at anytime in the future is almost magic. It is more intuitive than drawing with the mouse as some virtual designers still do. Another excellent use is for presentations. Imagine how smooth and seamless a presentation will be without the added pressure of fumbling with a mouse. A touch screen laptop allows the presenter to make live markings onto the screen which is projected live to the audience. This eliminates the caveman way of drawing imaginary lines with a laser pointer or invading the image space by reaching with a pointer.
Touch screen laptops may seem like science fiction to some but get up to speed soon because it is about to make a big splash in the way we use computers.
